The worlds largest Volksfest (beer festival), held annually in Munich since 1810. Approximately 6 million visitors attend over 16-18 days. Over 7 million litres of beer are served. Only beer conforming to the Reinheitsgebot (purity law) and brewed within Munich city limits may be served.
